OpenKeychain helps you communicate more privately and securely. It uses encryption to ensure that your messages can be read only by the people you send them to, others can send you messages that only you can read, and these messages can be digitally signed so the people getting them are sure who sent them. OpenKeychain is based on the well established OpenPGP standard making encryption. Read the documentation page for more information about available Gpg4win documentation. Source code releases

These are the canonical release forms of GnuPG. To use them youneed to build the binary version from the provided source code.For Unix systems this is the standard way of installing software.For GNU/Linux distributions are commonly used (e.g. Debian, Fedora,RedHat, or Ubuntu) which may already come with a directlyinstallable packages. However, these version may be older so thatbuilding from the source is often also a good choice. Someknowledge on how to compile and install software is required.

The table lists the different GnuPG packages, followed by requiredlibraries, required tools, optional software, and legacy versionsof GnuPG.

GnuPG distributions are signed. It is wise and more secure to check out for their integrity.

Remarks:

• Pinentry is a collection of passphrase entry dialogs which isrequired for almost all usages of GnuPG.
• GPGME is the standard library to access GnuPG functions fromprogramming languages.
• GPA is a graphical frontend to GnuPG.
• GnuPG 1.4 is the old, single binary version which still supportthe unsafe PGP-2 keys. This branch has no dependencies on theabove listed libraries or the Pinentry. However, it lacks manymodern features and will receive only important updates.

GnuPG binary releases

In general we do not distribute binary releases but leave that tothe common Linux distributions. However, for some operatingsystems we list pointers to readily installable releases. Wecannot guarantee that the versions offered there are current. Notealso that some of them apply security patches on top of thestandard versions but keep the original version number.

The GNU Privacy Guard

GnuPG is a complete and free implementation of the OpenPGP standard asdefined by RFC4880 (also known as PGP). GnuPG allows you to encrypt andsign your data and communications; it features a versatile key managementsystem, along with access modules for all kinds of public keydirectories. GnuPG, also known as GPG, is a command line tool withfeatures for easy integration with other applications. A wealth offrontend applications and libraries are available. GnuPG alsoprovides support for S/MIME and Secure Shell (ssh).

Since its introduction in 1997, GnuPG is Free Software (meaning thatit respects your freedom). It can be freely used, modified anddistributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License .

Gpg4win is a Windows version of GnuPG featuring a context menu tool, acrypto manager, and an Outlook plugin to send and receive standardPGP/MIME mails. The current version of Gpg4win is 3.1.13.

Gpg4win fully approved for EU RESTRICTED.

After about a year of tweaking details of the approval, Gpg4win andGnuPG are now approved for EU RESTRICTED communication (VS-NfD). Thisapprovals covers the protocols S/MIME and OpenPGP (public-key andsymmetric-only) with hard- and soft-tokens. Our commercial branchGnuPG.com released a press notice (in German) today.
